Drayton Leisure brings The Promenade to St. Jacobs stage

ST. JACOBS – Seize your promenade date and step into the world of glitter, unbelievable music, and high-energy dance with the hilarious musical The Promenade. This heartwarming celebration of affection and inclusivity will take the stage on the St. Jacobs Nation Playhouse from Might 17 to June 11.
“We’re excited to convey this festivity to the stage in St. Jacobs,” says Drayton Leisure inventive director and CEO Alex Mustakas.
“The Promenade is full of dazzling dance numbers, glitzy costumes, over-the-top characters, and hilarious moments – all wrapped round a heart-warming story about inclusivity, love, and what it means to be true to your self. Audiences can be cheering and dancing by the tip,” Mustakas states.

Heading up the promenade committee is director and choreographer David Connolly. Connolly has helmed many different hits for Drayton Leisure, together with Disney’s Newsies, Mamma Mia!, and plenty of extra.
Connolly is joined by music director Steve Thomas, set designer David Boechler, costume designers Anne Roth and Matthew Pachtman, and lighting designer Kaileigh Krysztofiak, stage supervisor Dustyn Wales, assistant stage supervisor Sadie Wannamaker, and apprentice stage supervisor Molly Mück.
Annika Tupper seems because the warm-hearted Emma Nolan, a highschool senior who merely needs to convey her girlfriend to the promenade. Tupper is a soon-to-be graduate of Sheridan Faculty’s Bachelor of Music Theatre Efficiency program.
Jillian Cooper takes on the function of Alyssa Greene, the girlfriend that Emma goals of taking to the promenade. Cooper is a current graduate of Sheridan Faculty’s Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre program. The Promenade marks each Tupper’s and Cooper’s Drayton Leisure debut.
Impressed by a real story, the idea for The Promenade was developed by Broadway producer Jack Viertel after seeing information experiences about homosexual college students not being allowed to attend their proms.
The Promenade is on stage on the St. Jacobs Nation Playhouse from Might 17 to June 11.
